Privacy policy
A plain description of how this static website handles information. Last reviewed October 6, 2026.
hjobs is a static website: its pages and scripts are files served to your browser. It has no user accounts, no login and no database of visitors. This policy describes what that means in practice. It is a good-faith description of how the site works, not legal advice, and we do not claim certification under any privacy law or standard.
Information stored in your browser
The site uses your browser's localStorage for a few features. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us:
- your theme choice (light or dark);
- listings you save, so your shortlist is there when you return;
- the email address typed into the newsletter box. This is a demo: it is kept in your browser and no newsletter is sent.
You can remove all of it by clearing site data in your browser settings.
Tools and the information you type
Skills, pasted job descriptions and search terms are processed by JavaScript in your browser. We do not receive them. We do not accept CV uploads.
Contact form
The contact form prepares a draft in the page; its email-app link opens your email client with that draft. It does not submit anything to a server of ours. If you send the email, it is handled by your email provider and received by the recipient at the address shown on the contact page.
Public job listings are stored in this tab’s sessionStorage and reused for up to ten minutes to reduce repeated API requests as you navigate between pages. This cache contains public listing data, not your skill highlights or contact message. Stored data can remain until the browser ends the tab session; you can also clear it through browser site-data controls.
Third-party services
To display a page, your browser may request resources from other services. Those services necessarily receive technical connection information such as your IP address, browser type and the page requesting the resource. They are:
- Public job feed APIs, to load listings;
- Unsplash, for some photographs;
- Google Fonts, for typefaces;
- GitHub, which serves the author's avatar image on the author page.
Each has its own privacy policy, which we do not control.
Hosting logs
Our web host may keep standard server logs of requests, which can include IP addresses and timestamps, for security and operations. We do not have a separate system to analyse those logs about individual visitors.
Links to other sites
Job listings link to employers and other sites. Once you leave hjobs, that site's policy applies, including any information you provide in an application.
Analytics, advertising and cookies
We have not added analytics, advertising scripts or tracking pixels. We do not set cookies of our own. Third-party services above may apply their own technical measures.
Your choices
Because we hold no account data, there is generally nothing for us to retrieve or delete. You can clear local data in your browser at any time. If you have a question about this policy, use the contact page.
Changes
If the site's behaviour changes, for example by adding analytics, this page will be updated first. This policy does not state a legal operator address because none is published on the site.
